Tuneful Crochet Hooks

Sarah, you wanted to hear this story, so here it is!

Once upon a time, maybe 6-9 months ago, I was crocheting something (ok, actually, when do I ever STOP crocheting? anyways...)

I was making something, and I had a handful of crochet hooks sitting on the floor next to me. I dropped the hook I had been working with, and it clattered against the ones on the floor.

HOLD ON!!!...

Being a music major has its up and down sides...I not sure which this is, but when I heard the clanking, I heard music...in fact, I heard several different pitches.

I grabbed up my hook and started tapping all the others with it. Excellent! They can be tuned!

So I lined them up by pitch and started playing thing like Chopsticks, and the Rugrats theme song.
(Interesting fact, the size D hook is the lowest pitched aluminum hook, and the K was actually the highest...doesn't make sense to me, but whatever)
The pitches aren't exactly in tune. You sort of have to ignore the out-of-tuneness of it, but you can indeed get a major scale out of those bad boys.

Try it. You know you want to!
